Tobacco-Free Environment

The following rules have been adopted in order to maintain a tobacco-free environment for students, employees and the general public during school and at all district events:

1. Principals will include a summary of the district tobacco policy in all student and staff handbooks;

2. "Tobacco Use Prohibited" signs will be posted in appropriate locations in all district buildings and at all high-use outside facilities. School principals will determine the locations of signs;

3. Public address reminders of the policy will be made at school activities as needed in order to inform those in attendance;

4. Administrators will develop procedures to inform students, staff and the general public. Each site administrator will take appropriate steps to enforce the policy. This may include use of the district resource officers at public events.
