Community Involvement in Decision Making
The Board recognizes that schools belong to the people of the communities whom they serve. Therefore, effort will be made to determine public views on school issues. The Board will seek public views to assist in conducting needs assessments and to assist in curriculum and budget planning. The Board believes that community participation is essential if the district and the communities are to maintain mutual confidence and respect that will foster improved quality of education.
Regular community participation is obtained through the Curriculum Council, the statutory advisory committees under ESEA Title I; Indian Education Act, Title V; Johnson O'Malley Act; and ad hoc committees appointed on specific issues.
