Elementary Student Placement
Elementary principals shall place students throughout the year according to the following guidelines.
Students shall be placed with consideration of the following:
Class size, range of student abilities, student’s special needs, behavior problems.
Students with unique of special needs shall be placed with a teacher best able to provide for those needs. Information from prior teachers, resource teachers, and conferences with parents may guide the principal’s decision on placement.
Parent requests for a student placement must be made in conference with the elementary principal to determine areas of special need. The principal’s judgement regarding the most appropriate placement to meet the special need shall prevail.
Principals will provide class lists for teacher use prior to the first teacher workday.
