Licensed Staff Positions

 

The superintendent shall establish licensed staff positions necessary to carry out the district’s instructional goals.

Positions so established may include those which carry other than classroom teaching responsibility.

1. Teachers shall follow the prescribed courses of study and enforce the rules and regulations of the district, the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and the State Board of Education. Teachers shall maintain the appropriate records and reports in accordance with the district procedures.

2. The teacher shall maintain student behavior consistent with the district regulations both in the classroom and around school. Discipline must be in accordance with student conduct and discipline policy.

3. It should b e the teacher’s duty to direct and control the studies of their students, taking individual differences into consideration.

4. The teacher should be concerned with students as a group, and as individuals, and make evaluations according to the district procedures.

5. The teacher shall follow and abide by the current written agreement between the district and the authorized collective bargaining representative.

Teachers shall follow the building procedures prescribed by the building principal and/or building handbook.

The Board will provide salaries and benefits for certified teachers according to the current agreement negotiated between the Board and the teachers' authorized bargaining agent.

To maintain fair and consistent application of the negotiated salary schedule, the Board authorizes the superintendent to formulate necessary rules that are not specified in the current agreement.
