Administrator Compensation Rules
Definitions
1. Educational requirements – The level of formal education and/or Oregon certification required to successfully carry out the job responsibility.
2. Administrator – Administrators in the district are defined by the following list of positions: assistant superintendent, personnel director, director of special education, director of curriculum and federal programs, director of information technology, director of maintenance and safety, director of transportation, director of food services, director of student testing, principals, and vice-principals.
Compensation Benefits
Life insurance – Beginning with 1982-83 and continuing until modified, the district will provide $20,000 term life insurance for each administrator plus dependent coverage.
Medical, dental and vision insurance – The district will include administrators as part of the medical, dental and vision insurance group policies provided to other employees in the district.
Long-term disability insurance – The district will include administrators as part of the long-term disability insurance group policy provided to certified employees, beginning with September, 1983.
Sick leave shall be granted in the amount of one day per contract month accumulative without limit on July 1.
Paid Vacation – Administrators on a 12 month contract shall earn 20 days of paid vacation annually, awarded in advance each July 1st. Newly hired 12 month administrators shall earn current year vacation days, awarded in advance, on a pro rata basis from date of hire.
Upon termination of employment, the current year's earned vacation days shall be prorated for the number of months of employment during that year. The employee shall be compensated for any unused vacation balance. If the employee has already used more days than the proration allows, the excess paid vacation days shall be deducted from the employee's final paycheck.
Tuition reimbursement – Tuition reimbursement shall be provided to each administrator for graduate courses successfully completed. Actual tuition cost will be reimbursed.
Professional organization dues – The district will pay annual dues to national, state and local units of AASA, NASSP, NAESP, ASCD, COSA and other professional organizations approved by the superintendent.
